How Covid influenced your shooting hobby?

Post by Vitaly »

Are shooting ranges still open where you live? We are happy to have indoor and outdoor ranges working in Ukraine. But there was a period without matches and trainings and it was awful.

Covid has presented us on Guam with a new appreciation for dry-fire. Our shooting ranges have been closed for most of the year, forcing us to look for ways to keep up our skills. Ammo is almost non-existent and reloading is not much of a better option for us (primers are considered a hazardous material and expensive to ship).

Enter CoolFire Trainer! I got exposed to this tool during a shooting class in the USA. Now, I can dry-fire my pistol and get the benefit of simulated recoil! To be fair, it feels like shooting a 22LR cartridge. However, the pistol reacts "normally" making dry-fire a fun time as well!

We are hoping 2021 will bring better shooting days with the New Year!

Since October 2020 the shooting ranges in Belgium are still closed. It doesn't appear that the will reopen soon. Luckily I'm in the possibility to do (airsoft) dry fire to keep the skills up to date. DVC
