How young is too young?

Guten tag IPSC friends,
I have noticed at trend of match footage with younger and younger competitors, especially with clips from Asia.
Many countries have rules on how old you must be to ride bicycle in traffic. This so that children are old enough to know the difference between left and right, understand that they need to check the road before crossing, etc.
At what age are children "mature enough" to play the IPSC game? Is it reasonable to have small children run around under match pressure? Should there be a lower age limit? I.e. 8 years? Only action air until 18 years old?
